LaQua combines shopping with a theme park and this is where you can get to enjoy hot spring at Spa LaQua, without having to travel to the mountains. Located near the Tokyo Dome, not only is it convenient, there’s plenty to do, so it’s one of my recommendations!

There’s something romantically magical about carousels that draws me to them. Maybe because it always sets itself as the backdrop for unrequited love.

I have to show you this monstrous roller coaster! Just standing where I was taking this picture sends shivers down my spine. How can anyone take this ride and survive it? The rails are so thin, it’s so high, and this is only the beginning of a series of death drops!!! Having said that, I just might have gone for a ride if I had been there alone, because that was my first impulse. But because my friend was there, and she was afraid, we merely stood and watch, and then my nerves kicked in and the moment of courage was lost.

The other part of the ride that goes through the building.

*gasps*-*screams*-

This pretty shop selling all the pink, girlish, kiddish stuff…

lq4.jpg

Aren’t they gorgeous! There’s a tiny flower shop on the first floor, and interior design of the store is rather sparse, while the flowers add colour and texture to the place. There’s a very light floral scent that is so rare anywhere else that I was greedy for more!

lq5.jpg

I have no idea what this is, but it looks quite interesting, doesn’t it?

lq6.jpg

If you look closely, there are stripes on the roses. Hmm… I wonder how they were bred…

lq7a.jpg

This rose in full bloom is so beautiful. I like the thick petals, they make the rose looks so neat!

lq8.jpg

Our dinner. I’m curious about the KFC in Tokyo. They haven’t got any crispy chicken, so I ordered their special black peppered flavoured chicken, and regular chicken. I’m not a fan of their fries. Maybe because it’s cold, and the fries were a little soggy. The chicken is really yummy, doesn’t feel too oily too! YUMMY!!

Trying to act cool while waiting for my friend outside the fitting room.

My twin and I shooting weird looks at each other…

How To Get There

LaQua is at the doorstep of Korakuen station (Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line).

Kasuga Station (Toei Oedo Line) will be a short walk away from LaQua.

  10. Hi 7,

I suppose tattoos are commonly associated with gangster organizations in Japan. The yakuza have full body tattoos, so I suspect it might have something to do with that too.

    Love,
    Joanne

  11. I have actually sit on a Roller Coaster b4 in Australia during the SAF Exercise Wallaby’s R&R. The thrill is quite comparable, but due to my fear of heights, after I sit it for one time, I couldn’t summon enough courage to go for a 2nd helping, even though my army friends egg me on 🙂 This Coaster ride in Tokyo looks yummy and challenging. If I have the chance, I would definitely try it…..to overcome my fear of heights. And get the thrill. Overall, you feel like your world is swirling, and oddly enough, you don’t feel inverted when it goes round and round, instead the scenery around you is a bit confusing, but you still see your hands upright, and all the stupid forces acting on you in many ways…That is what I feel.

Haha, and the 2nd one is also very good. The ascend is always very thrilling, slow and steady until you really feel you are on top of the world. You can even admire the surrounding scenery…then suddenly without warning, and with a loud metallic gearing sound, you feel the loss of gravity, the feeling of free fall, that your own body weight suddenly “disappears, and the thrill and fear of falling to pieces onto the ground below….in am matter of a few seconds, you reach the bottom after screaming your hearts out, and get back your sanity and the feeling of something “solid” you can step on.” HaHa. After dismounting, you would feel a bit disoriented, mind swirling and still recovering from some shock, but overall a good experience! 🙂

  12. Hi Yoke Peng,

Thanks for sharing your story with me! When I was in Cape Town all by myself, I went to Ratanga Junction, which was a theme park near Canal Walk. Initially I didn’t intend to take any rides, but then I thought, I can’t fly 14 hours halfway across the globe and leave without going on the “cobra” rollercoaster, which is a rollercoaster where your feet dangles in mid-air, so I bought a day pass and braved myself. Somehow for that ride, there was only me and this other guy, so the operator made us sit in the first seat. It was sooooo frightening as the train climbed up the rail because the cars on the road looked tiny, and when it made its descent, I was screaming my head off. Then I took the ride again, and this time, I thought I would be freaked out too, but surprisingly when the train plunged downslope at full speed, instead of being afraid, I was actually exhilarated! Then I thought, there’s no other ride in this world where you can enjoy moving at such high speed and having the wind blast through my hair. So yea, the thrill was unbelievably good! So yea, I’m afraid, but yet I know I’d probably love it.

    🙂 Joanne

  16. Hey hihi!
    Joanne…

What a nice picture being taken at the right angle for the roller coaster.
    It looks so thrilling.
I really feel like trying though by looking at the picture already makes my hair stand and my heart beats at such a fast rate.
I guess the rides will really conquers the fear of height in someone.

Still a long way to the last post of your Tokyo trip?
