《唐山到南洋》：i-周刊的拍摄

我们在福建永定拍了i-周刊的封面，给我留下难得的回忆。很少可以那么自在地拍封面，是因为这次是以自己已经非常熟悉的造型出现呢，还是因为现在的我对于拍照已有不一样的见解 －－ 或许两者都有吧！

记得拍摄那天我们准备了2套衣服，当天没有拍戏通告，只是得录个制作花絮的访问。因为地点的关系，我们大家就一同行。花絮的团队和i-周刊的团队都很体谅彼此需要完成的任务。我喜欢这样的工作安排，不用从一个地点赶到另一个地点，没有时间的压力就可以专心的完成工作。这也是对于工作，还有涉及完成这份工作的伙伴们的一种尊重。

i-周刊的团队就只有摄影师和记者两个人，我们就跟着摄影师，一边看风景，一边拍照，整个过程很随意，很轻松。有时候我们拍照要穿一些高档服装，带一些首饰，或是做某一个特别时尚的造型，这些其实都成了无形的负担。这次我没有这样的装扮，很自在，很开心，所以很多时候都不感觉镜头的存在，纯粹就是感受这个异乡给我的感觉。还有，身边的一切成为了我们拍照的布景和道具，没有特别设计，只是最真诚地对待。

在拍我的个人照时，来了个“伴儿”。。。

这只狗很亲切，很喜欢咬我，也不是真正的咬，就是在跟我玩吧。。。本来我很担心会感染什么细菌，但是它无邪打动了我。它就是想要人疼，想要人爱 －－

其实我们大家不都想要人疼，想要人爱吗？

有时候我们会因为某个人或某样东西的外表，有了先入为主，但是真正接触了之后才发现，原来我们对于别人的判断，正反映了自己缺乏了宽阔的心胸。

好多人都在问我最近忙什么，什么时候能在电视上看到我，现在就跟大家说。
我正在拍摄长剧《想握你的手》。这部剧的拍摄从去年12月开始而将会在明年中结束。不过本剧将会在11月9日，晚上7点播出。播出的当儿呢，我们将会继续拍摄。现在我们已经拍摄到100集以上，还有80集哦，所以还是得花一段时间。

现在就和大家分享前天媒体招待会的幕后情况。

Many people have been asking me what I’ve been busy with lately and when will my next drama be on television. Thank you all for asking!

I am currently still filming the 180-episode long drama YOUR HAND IN MINE. Filming for this drama began last year in December and will end mid next year. Currently, we are done with about 100 episodes, so that leaves another 80 more to go. However, our drama will be coming to your television screens from November 9th onwards, every Mondays to Fridays, at 7 pm on Channel 8. This means that we will be filming while the drama is airing! It’s fun that none of us knows how it’s all going to end!

In the meantime, here’re some pictures taken during our press conference held for the media two days ago…

媒体招待会还没开始之前，演员们在干什么呢？哈哈， 当然是拍照啊！

Before the cast goes on stage to meet the press, how do we pass time? It’s got to be massive photo-taking.

我好喜欢这个手镯。它很独特，而且色彩鲜艳！I love this bangle! Actually it is made up of 2 bangles and the multi-coloured skulls add a dash of fun to the otherwise typical design.

在等待媒体招待会的当儿，我们就 “无聊” 起来。。。Nothing else better to do, we start photographing our expensive shoes.

拍了鞋子，就低镜头拍脸，哈哈，我不小心按了 zoom 所以三人好挤。Bored with the shoes, we started experimenting with unflattering low angle shots. I accidentally hit the zoom button, that's why it's so tight.

还没有机会和大家拍照就得进场了。台上访问结束后，就和几位记者朋友私下聊了一点。随后就赶去录些预告片。一个人录没意思，所以就跟戏里面的情人搭档啦！

Before I had a chance to snap pictures of everyone, it was time to be on stage. We have a huge cast, so the interviews took some time. After which, I spoke privately with a couple of reporters quickly and had to proceed to shoot some trailers and interstitial. I was paired up with none other than my lover in the show!

我们在为《想握你的手》录预告片，你们一定要留意收看。我们没有剧本，也没有台词，不过感觉很好。不是我老王卖瓜，而是耀栋和我在一起拍了这么长的时间，默契十足。题材原创于我们，蛮好玩，希望大家会喜欢。We are doing a trailer for YOUR HAND IN MINE. It's unscripted but after filming together for so long, we've got good chemistry. It's original material from us, so I hope all of you will like it. Stay tuned!

《想握你的手》主角不是我们？

之前到曼谷拍 《亚洲时尚风》，去了3天就得赶回来拍《想握你的手》的trailer。

我们4人（蔡琪慧，陈泓宇，方展发和我）在炎热的太阳下野餐，汗流浃背，眼睛都睁不开了，不过主角竟然不是我们哦！猜猜是谁？

I was in Bangkok shooting FASHION ASIA for Channel U and returned home to shoot the trailer for the current long drama I'm working on titled YOUR HAND IN MINE. The four of us (Paige, Shaun, Pierre and I) had a picnic under the hot sun, and yet the real stars of the show weren't us! Guess who?

As you can tell, there was no shade available anywhere near us.

Thankfully I've got my huge umbrella and Pierre has got his portable battery-operated fan. The fan in my hand was provided by the production team.

We were filming at a beautiful open space, somewhere in Potong Pasir. I suspect it'd be nice and warm in the evening, but the late morning/noon sun was merciless.

Cameraman and his assistant. This trailer is shot by an outside crew who does commercial jobs, not the usual people we work with on our drama.

The different lenses used for different shot sizes. The box makes this look like it's some top secret ammunition prop in a thriller movie! Our drama camera crew aren't so lucky to have these available for them so that's why I've never seen them.

Our pillar of strength. Hence I took this low angle shot of him to make him look larger than life. Without him, we'd all have been baked! Thank you for shielding us!!

The wind keeps blowing the hair into my face. The nice thing is that we've got someone to see to that. 🙂

The fun thing about blue screen is, we never really know what we have behind us, because the effects are keyed in during post production. If you want to look like you've got the invisible cloak on, just wear something in a similar shade of blue, and watch yourself disappear on screen!

Stars of the trailer?

Not quite...because...

Ta-dah...these were the real stars of the trailer! Let's call them "Uno" and "Deux". LOL!! Want to find out why, remember to stay tuned to Channel 8 for our trailer! 🙂

Me, my mom and I?

Some of you might have been quite puzzled with my recent tweets regarding knowing how my mom’s going to look like and being my mom. Well, the mystery is over, this is what it’s all about.

WHAT IS THIS?

This is the imaging for my second character in the 180-long drama that I have been filming since December last year. She plays a 56-year old woman who is the mother of my current character who is a lawyer. While she was a gorgeous prostitute when she was younger, her heyday didn’t last too long, and that sort of lifestyle wore her down. A woman who is destined to endure hardship surfaces in the neighbourhood as a skillful con artist and preys on the characters in the show.

HOW IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MOTHER & DAUGHTER?

The lawyer that I play is someone who seeks to uphold justice, who believes that the world should exist only in right or wrong. Her mother is the epitome of the kind of person she is fighting to put away so the association with this woman who bore her as a child would inevitably be one of the rudest shocks she receives throughout the show. The relationship they have is not going to be very pretty.

HOW WAS THE IMAGING PROCESS?

Although it is not clearly obvious, I have a fat bodysuit underneath the clothes and padded buttocks. It’s actually quite hot to have the layers.  I also have a wig, a scar, wrinkles, freckles, spots and new teeth. The teeth was custom made to fit my mouth and this was done at the dentist. It took us a handful of visits to get the mould and fit right.

IS IT TOUGH WEARING THE DENTURES?

It takes some getting used to. It’s not possible to eat or chew and speech is slightly hindered because the tongue is obstructed by the dentures, but it’s a good thing because it helps me slow down my speech and be more convincing as older people tend to speak much slower.

《小娘惹》的英雄

《小娘惹》 今晚即将播出，相信大家都很期待。在这里，我也不想多宣传，只是想借此机会让一些幕后的工作人员亮相。无法拍到所有参与制作的朋友，但有他们的付出，才会有今晚的《小娘惹》。

有一天我去录音的时候，和音乐效果的同事聊起才发现一部电视剧的音乐和效果是多么的重要。音乐什么时候进入画面，什么时候退出，背景的车笛声，狗吠声等什么时候加入，声量多少，用什么型的车，什么品种的狗都会有不同。编曲方面也是一门学问，要在那一个画面高潮也都会影响整个故事的起伏。

和他谈了之后，我更珍惜所有台前幕后，从 pre-production 到 post-production 工作人员的努力和付出。无论怎么样，他们的功劳和苦劳是应该受到肯定的。

Jessica, 是我们新加坡的同事。在马来西亚拍戏时，她负责所有的联系工作，包括接送演员和经费管理。

Andrew是马来西亚的同事，长得很象香港演员梁家辉！

Ah Fu & Ah Wai。一个每天买饭给我们吃，一个是摄影师得助理。

拍长捉宴所动用的道具都需要花时间准备。食物的摆设也很重要。

铭顺开车？

昨晚不知道大家有没有收看《球爱大战》的首播。有看的观众朋友可能会想铭顺哥怎么能开车呢？这里就跟大家分享我和他在拍后面一集的车戏的幕后工程。真的不容易哦！

I’m not sure how many of you tuned in to the first episode of “Beach.Ball.Babes” last night. Those of you who did might be wondering how Christopher Lee drove so convincingly. I am about to share with you “behind-the-scenes” to a car scene we did together in a later episode. In other words, you get a little preview of what is to come later on, and how it was done.

I’m not quite sure what they were trying to do here, perhaps they were trying to find a way to tow the car?

Tired of squatting, or in need of a change of “fengshui”?

终于弄好了。。。摄影师上拖车摆机器。

最辛苦就是摄影师，为了达到效果“不择手段”, 真的是敬业乐业！

A car scene on television may only be a few seconds, but the filming process can take up to a couple of hours, just mounting the cameras and repeating the lines from different angles. The professional cameraman going all out to capture yet another angle. Please do not imitate.

我和铭顺哥的替身等雨停。其他很wide的镜头都是由替身开车，铭顺哥就可以躲在后座。

说到双峰。。。

前两天，我们《球爱大战》拉队到 Tiong Bahru 巴刹，拍一场非常难为情的戏。剧情描述我们输了一场球赛，结果因为事先有打赌，所以我们被罚要穿bikini到巴刹买东西。

我当天没有想到会有这么多记者朋友出现，更没想到自己的身材会被讨论。入行到现在，从来就没有人把注意力放在我的身材上，所以突然变成记者关注的话题，坦白说，真的让我很不自在。如果有记者朋友在看这篇，我当天要是有任何不友善，请多多包含，我是一时不知所措。

我不爱露，因为不喜欢人们把焦点放在我的肉体，会让我很不舒服，可是因为这部剧的剧种，不露的话就不合理了。虽然朋友说年轻是本钱，不现在炫耀要等到什么时候，但我就是因为年轻，才更想保护自己。尽管如此，我也了解这是我的职业，我必须专业的面对，所以就不推辞，也不会扭扭捏捏。

这篇文章登了之后，我收到不少朋友的简讯，有些很坦白的问我是不是去隆胸？天啊！！！有这么夸张吗？我希望在这里顺便澄清。我一直都很满意自己的双峰。对我来说，隆胸的动机有三个：一，自己不满意；二，想给自己增加信心；三，想给人家看。整个隆胸的过程太麻烦了，而我没有足够的动机让我愿意去花时间和金钱来冒这个险，接受这么复杂的过程。坦白说，我不觉得自己很大，所以如果动手术就只做这么样，还真不值得。所以呢，一定是大家事前太低估我了呐？！

对此事，我也就只有这些话要说。不过我想补充的是，我认为自己的身体只是帮我塑造人物的其中一部份，所以网友认定我平胸也好，丰满也好，我只希望我要做平胸的小太妹也行，要做健康阳光沙滩宝贝也不差，能够利用身段来辅助演技才是我的目标。

We were bored on the upper deck while the rest were filming in the cabin, so we fooled around with some funny pictures and thought it’d be fun to put them together like that. And since Nat is very Photoshop savvy, he agreed to do it!
