BTS: A Tale of 2 Cities 乐在双城幕后花絮

Some of you must have seen our promo picture for A Tale of 2 Cities, which is a new drama that will debut on Valentine’s Day on Channel 8.

Our EP Paul Yuen directed this segment personally. He wanted us to come up with a pose as a couple and so we try to figure out in our little groups what to do to give you the wonderful final image.

Current Projects

最近在电视上的作品少了，但这是因为我还在拍摄当中。

之前接到了《仁心侠旅》的节目，所以不停出国。目前还剩两个国家的拍摄。预告片应该很快会在电视上能看到所以希望大家拭目以待。

在出发之前和回来之后的空窗期间，我正在拍一部电视电影《等一等爱情》。

在戏里，我和许立桦的缘分横跨十年。

拍摄时很开心，但因为抽不出时间发表文章，所以没办法在博客上和大家分享。

Since “Your Hand in Mine”, many of you have not seen me on television much. That is because I am still in the midst of filming.

A couple of months back, I started filming “An Activist Journey“, where I travelled to an Asian country each time, to learn about a specific social issue and what some people are doing about them.

Currently, I am left with two more countries and I believe the trailer and official website for this programme will be out soon.

In between my trips, I am filming a telemovie, “Love in a Cab”. Julian Hee stars in this feature film with me as we crossed paths over a 10-year period.

I have a lot of fun on set with an extremely young and dynamic crew, but because I don’t have  time to upload the photos, I’m not able to share much with you on my blog. However, you can follow me on Twitter (@JoannePeh) if you’d like to be updated on what I’m up to.

地震之后的感想

好久没有用中文发表文章，不过觉得要谈这部电影，还是用中文比较贴切。

我对这部电影的认识是从电影院播放的一段很短，但是很震撼的预告片。

记得当时看了预告片之后，就开始对这部电影很感兴趣。

前几天被邀请观赏《唐山大地震》的首映会之后，只能说这预告片并没有透露这部电影细腻的故事描述和演员精湛的演出。

电影结束后，大家都是红着眼眶踏出戏院。它并不煽情，但它很诚恳，很真实，也让我认识到人是如何面付悲伤。

有位同事认为本地的导演们应该看这部电影，才不会要求我们在演绎悲伤时，做一些夸张的动作或表情。我呢，则在想，电影或许和电视的演绎方式不能相同。

当观众在毫无干扰的情况下，望着这么大的银幕，演员内敛的演出当然能有效的表现出来。演员更不能有太大的动作或太夸张的表情，要不然就会令观众反感。

但是如果是电视剧，家里尽管有再大的电视机，还是免不了杂音和干扰。广告本身就是一种干扰。那这么一来，要是演员太内敛的话，是不是观众就感受不到我们的情感呢？在说，有多少人是坐下来，目不转睛地从头看到尾？每个演员都内敛的话，会不会导致观众跟不上剧情，因此觉得很闷呢？

你们有什么见解？

我想就是因为这点，让某些演员和导演意见不和。也没有谁对谁错，因为都是希望能把最好的呈现给大家。不过，我个人觉得演员忠于自己人物的情感是很重要的，因为只要我们脑子里有一丝情感上的不平衡，就真的很难有说服力。这种内敛的表演方式有时在导演的小荧光屏上是感受不到的，那怎么办？太夸张会很假，内敛的演出导演有时又感受不到，那什么才能称得上是自然，真实的演出呢？是否可以在电视剧的其他制作方面下手，比如音效、剪辑等，来取得平衡呢？

当然我们不能混淆内敛和木訥。我们也不能否定一部好的电视剧或电影是多方面的结晶。

所以演艺一直都很吸引我，因为它是个很灵活的艺术，没有对没有错，有开始但没有终点。

希望大家能给《唐山大地震》一个机会，感受我们在新加坡没有机会遇到的天灾，所留下的疮痍不是到处可见的废墟，而是心灵上无法弥补的裂痕。

入围亚洲电视大奖 －－ 开心！！

昨天早上上《早安你好》，把整个访谈剪辑成4分钟，感谢我的助理现场帮忙拍摄。希望你们看了能够给我你们对我最后一道问题的意见。

好多人都在问我最近忙什么，什么时候能在电视上看到我，现在就跟大家说。
我正在拍摄长剧《想握你的手》。这部剧的拍摄从去年12月开始而将会在明年中结束。不过本剧将会在11月9日，晚上7点播出。播出的当儿呢，我们将会继续拍摄。现在我们已经拍摄到100集以上，还有80集哦，所以还是得花一段时间。

现在就和大家分享前天媒体招待会的幕后情况。

Many people have been asking me what I’ve been busy with lately and when will my next drama be on television. Thank you all for asking!

I am currently still filming the 180-episode long drama YOUR HAND IN MINE. Filming for this drama began last year in December and will end mid next year. Currently, we are done with about 100 episodes, so that leaves another 80 more to go. However, our drama will be coming to your television screens from November 9th onwards, every Mondays to Fridays, at 7 pm on Channel 8. This means that we will be filming while the drama is airing! It’s fun that none of us knows how it’s all going to end!

In the meantime, here’re some pictures taken during our press conference held for the media two days ago…

媒体招待会还没开始之前，演员们在干什么呢？哈哈， 当然是拍照啊！

Before the cast goes on stage to meet the press, how do we pass time? It’s got to be massive photo-taking.

我好喜欢这个手镯。它很独特，而且色彩鲜艳！I love this bangle! Actually it is made up of 2 bangles and the multi-coloured skulls add a dash of fun to the otherwise typical design.

在等待媒体招待会的当儿，我们就 “无聊” 起来。。。Nothing else better to do, we start photographing our expensive shoes.

拍了鞋子，就低镜头拍脸，哈哈，我不小心按了 zoom 所以三人好挤。Bored with the shoes, we started experimenting with unflattering low angle shots. I accidentally hit the zoom button, that's why it's so tight.

还没有机会和大家拍照就得进场了。台上访问结束后，就和几位记者朋友私下聊了一点。随后就赶去录些预告片。一个人录没意思，所以就跟戏里面的情人搭档啦！

Before I had a chance to snap pictures of everyone, it was time to be on stage. We have a huge cast, so the interviews took some time. After which, I spoke privately with a couple of reporters quickly and had to proceed to shoot some trailers and interstitial. I was paired up with none other than my lover in the show!

我们在为《想握你的手》录预告片，你们一定要留意收看。我们没有剧本，也没有台词，不过感觉很好。不是我老王卖瓜，而是耀栋和我在一起拍了这么长的时间，默契十足。题材原创于我们，蛮好玩，希望大家会喜欢。We are doing a trailer for YOUR HAND IN MINE. It's unscripted but after filming together for so long, we've got good chemistry. It's original material from us, so I hope all of you will like it. Stay tuned!

《想握你的手》主角不是我们？

之前到曼谷拍 《亚洲时尚风》，去了3天就得赶回来拍《想握你的手》的trailer。

我们4人（蔡琪慧，陈泓宇，方展发和我）在炎热的太阳下野餐，汗流浃背，眼睛都睁不开了，不过主角竟然不是我们哦！猜猜是谁？

I was in Bangkok shooting FASHION ASIA for Channel U and returned home to shoot the trailer for the current long drama I'm working on titled YOUR HAND IN MINE. The four of us (Paige, Shaun, Pierre and I) had a picnic under the hot sun, and yet the real stars of the show weren't us! Guess who?

As you can tell, there was no shade available anywhere near us.

Thankfully I've got my huge umbrella and Pierre has got his portable battery-operated fan. The fan in my hand was provided by the production team.

We were filming at a beautiful open space, somewhere in Potong Pasir. I suspect it'd be nice and warm in the evening, but the late morning/noon sun was merciless.

Cameraman and his assistant. This trailer is shot by an outside crew who does commercial jobs, not the usual people we work with on our drama.

The different lenses used for different shot sizes. The box makes this look like it's some top secret ammunition prop in a thriller movie! Our drama camera crew aren't so lucky to have these available for them so that's why I've never seen them.

Our pillar of strength. Hence I took this low angle shot of him to make him look larger than life. Without him, we'd all have been baked! Thank you for shielding us!!

The wind keeps blowing the hair into my face. The nice thing is that we've got someone to see to that. 🙂

The fun thing about blue screen is, we never really know what we have behind us, because the effects are keyed in during post production. If you want to look like you've got the invisible cloak on, just wear something in a similar shade of blue, and watch yourself disappear on screen!

Ta-dah...these were the real stars of the trailer! Let's call them "Uno" and "Deux". LOL!! Want to find out why, remember to stay tuned to Channel 8 for our trailer! 🙂

当公主遇上王子 －－ 戚玉武 Part 2

在拍第二集之前，监制最大的顾虑是担心阿武话不多，担心他接受访问是问一句答一句，那就很难让观众走进他的世界。我的任务重大，因为必须要让平时酷酷的阿武在节目上畅所欲言，活泼起来。结果，拍了两天后，收音员跑来跟我说，“你让他平时三个月里说的话统统都在这节目说完了！” 哈哈，他究竟分享了些什么呢？你们收看这个星期五（7月31日）的《当公主遇上王子》就知道了哦！

香车俊男，绝世搭配！

我总是说阿武是我的“初恋”，因为刚入行时他是我的第一个银幕男友，连续当了几部戏的情侣，所以还算谈得来。我发现他虽然话不多，可是他仍然不停的在观察和分析，所以一旦有感而发，就滔滔不绝。有时他会分享一些让你费解的看法，有时他的幽默突如其来，让你一时不知所措，本来不好笑的事件给他这么一说， 又还挺好笑的。我想阿武的魅力就在于他让人捉摸不清，但这却不是刻意的包装。他说话不拐弯抹角，尽管不中听，他还是喜欢坦白。因为他的话直接，有深度，所以我喜欢与他交谈，听听他的意见，看法。

聊了这么多，发现阿武很清楚自己的人生目标，所以我也在这里祝福他，希望他成功！

Pierre Png and I were childhood acquaintances.

岳光 （张耀栋饰演）是个观察敏锐的心理医生。有情则是个外冷内热的诉讼律师。

Zhang Yao Dong plays a psychiatrist with a quirky personality, while I play a lawyer, whose sees the world only as right or wrong.

《想握你的手》不知不觉已经拍了整整七个月，很快就要在电视上跟大家见面了。刚开始接到这部剧的时候有点透不过气。毕竟刚刚拍完《小娘惹》，就马上投入综艺节目《佳节年华》，随后在圣诞节的前几天就开始拍长剧，没什么时间进修，又担心拍这么长的戏会闷，会被束缚，会演来演去一直重复情节等之类的杂念。说我杞人忧天吧，因为根本就是钻牛角尖，想太多了！我发现自己随着时间开始成熟，戏里的人物也跟着我改变，情节或许相同，但是表达方式已经改变了。其实我们现实生活中不也会反反复复为了同样的人或事烦恼吗？你以为已经解决了的事，过了一段时间后，又浮现在眼前？重复又重复，其实也是我们现实生活中的一部分。

这几个月来我对演戏更是情有独钟。要塑造一个逼真的人物，必须把自己的人生历练和平日的观察融入角色。在分析剧本的时候，想的已经不再是要怎么说对白，而是了解这个人物出现在这场戏之前的心态，心情，遭遇，困惑，然后引观众走进故事里。我喜欢这个分析的过程，因为自己仿佛能够过另一个人的生活，却有不需要背负任何情感。自由的感觉很舒服。我可以和哥哥撒娇，发脾气，吵架，分享心事，可是却不需要承受家庭责任的压力。我可以享受谈恋爱的滋味，经历情人之间的甜蜜，醋意，不合，却又不会被爱情的欢喜悲伤久久的困惑。虽然当下的情感都是真的，但最后还都只不过是一场戏。

戏归戏，但这部剧很写实，所以我本身对剧情有共鸣。希望这故事能说的动听，能让你感动。

期待十一月的到来！

当公主遇上王子 －－ 戴阳天

该是时候和大家分享在拍综艺节目《当公主遇上王子》的照片了。我之前本来会和四位王子近距离的接触，通过逛街，聊天带大家走进他们的世界，不过因为公司在节目时段上有些更动，所以就只有两位王子。至于他们是谁呢，你们留意预告片就知道啦！我的第一位王子就是戴阳天。

我们到Sembawang的一间四层楼洋房示范单位拍摄。“剧中“饰演新婚夫妇。阳天说他喜欢小家碧玉型的女生，哈哈，我只好尽力而为。

道具食物好吃！

哈哈，忘了阳天当时在说什么，比手划角，挺滑稽的，尤其是我的表情，哈哈！

之后到外景拍摄，欢笑连连。。。

站了整天，乘他在换衣时歇一歇。

每次出外景到商店拍摄时，都会看到很多漂亮的饰物！我现在的致命伤是鞋子，所以还没有被这腰带“打动”。嘿嘿！

我在享受蜡烛散发的香味，并不知道原来阳天在我身边也摆了pose。哈哈！

闲着没事就开始扭动起来！

吃甜品，真开心！说到吃啊，真的是好久没有运动了，不能再为自己找借口了！
