My first attempt at patchwork!

I love this tiny little shop. It has beautiful (but expensive!) cloth, my favourite are those with small flowers! Does anyone know of any place I can get cheaper and pretty floral cloth?

These will eventually be sewn together to make a little patchwork pouch, which I have yet to learn how. *hee*

I bought this little cross-stitch design from the market while I was filming "Like Father Like Daughter" last year. It was left alone for a year and I only took it out recently to complete it.

Almost completed, only without the outline!

Ta-da! It's done!

This is a small drawstring pouch I made! It's actually a lot harder to make small items even though the steps are quite simple.

It's meant to be a lavender satchet for my car.

This book was borrowed from the library. My basic beading "coursebook".

I made these bracelets!

Which one do you like?

I bought this Japanese magazine from Borders. There are pictures to explain how to make simple tops and dresses.

The instructions with pictures.

Ta-da! I spent about 15 hours making this dress with the help of my mom.

This shows the back of my dress.
Have you seen anything you like?

michiy

the top is lovely. hee. jiayou.
Can’t wait to see your patchwork pouch. I really don’t know about patchwork but love to see it or HAVE it. TQ TQ!!! muak muak will u give me once you finish???
Hi Joanne, I must say you did really well in that cross-stitch design… in fact, I think it’s vast improvement from your first attempt! 🙂
Hi joanne! I see that you work out alot, but do you go to the gym or exercise without machines? And what kind of exercise do you do to keep yourself so fit?
Anyway, patchwork is a wonderful hobby and you do have potential in it, keep up the good work! 😀
HELLO JOANNE 😀
last episode of beach ball babes just ended ! the show’s really very nice ! 20 eps finished so quickly , it’ll be great if there’s part 2 (:
& i can see that you like craftwork very much , haha!
take great care !
Hello Joanne, nice craftwork. Although i did sth like that before. but its not as nice as yours.
woah, you’ve got nimble fingers! the stuff you made are nice. i like the pinkie dress which is so sweet. ^_^ haha whenever i do cross stitch i’ll be stuck on it for ages…
as for the patchwork right, can try asking for pieces of scrap cloth from tailors etc. i think they’ll sell cheap or give for free. or ask from friends bah. there no for need those big, perfect, uncut pieces of cloth rite, since you’re going to cut them up anyway. oh, but patchwork is like so in now. haha do show us your completed product orh. patchwork always gives me the heartwarming feeling~ haha maybe i have the idea that its like the blanket the ah mah/ mummy make for the children… hee =D
Hey! The pink dress is really sweet (;
The blue bracelet is nice=)
I was really impressed, seeing the bracelets that you made were exact replica of those in the magazines. Ha ha, you’re really good man. I’ve been wanting to d.i.y my accessories, but sad to say efforts were always half-hearted, hehe. I think it’s so hard to start from scratch, like…there are different types of wire cutters, pliers out there to get, no?!! And i’m totally clueless about beading and stuffs…May i know where you learn them?? Solely through books?
Your attempt at making the dress is good too! Next time, I’m sure you can work on more complicated pieces=) But I do find the dress abit short, heh.

I love cotton friend too but never had the time, patience or a sewing machine to sew! As for cheaper floral cloth, you can try the People’s Park market at chinatown..they have some nice floral cloth which i believe will be much cheaper. Good luck!

Dear PG,

That’s a nice drawstring pouch. 🙂 So nice to know of an artist whom is into handmade crafts.
I am a crafter, quilter and scrapbooker and it’s really addictive buying fabric online. Not to mention those Japanese craft books and zakka stuff! Hope to see more sewing crafts from you. 🙂
