How’s everyone’s spring cleaning coming along?
我终于把房间整理好了！很开心，因为我把好多东西扔掉，所以整齐了很多。有时候想想，为什么我们总是要堆积这么多东西？而且，很多时候这些东西，我们可能都用不着，但就会一直说服自己有一天会派上用场。要不然就是觉得丢掉太浪费。我花了一个星期整理东西，所领悟到的是，大扫除需要客观的判断，要不然就会发现东西并没有减少，只不过是换了个位子。以前在念书的时候，没有什么钱，所以买东西没有那么自由。现在出来工作后，有了自己的收入，想要什么就买。但是我发现很多购物后的战利品只不过是物质上的奢侈，如果仔细的想一想，其实根本都不是必需品，没有它并不会对生活素质有太大的影响。
这也是我大扫除的宗旨：如果少了这样东西，我的生活会受影响吗？我会在几个月后后悔扔掉的决定吗？
在这次的“行动”中，我更清楚自己有什么，不需要什么， 所以今年我不会追求拥有繁多的物品来增加自己的选择。毕竟外在的装饰敌不过内在的修养。十年后，二十年后，甚至半个世纪后，当我已不再拥有青春璀璨为盟友，当一切的外在美被岁月占有，我希望自己的魅力依然是从内心丰富的累积散发而出。
哈哈，原来大扫除能让我更了解自己。快过年了，你们行动了吗？

Gladys and Congo were my companions when I spent Christmas in Beijing 2 years ago. 😉 Don’t worry, gifts from all of you still around, but please don’t spend money on them next time ok? I’m happy to see you there. To Teddi: They go into the washing machine. Not exactly a very comfortable experience I’m sure. :p

Wah, you mean you put your soft furry toys in a washing machine? Do washing machine really wash them effectively? What a creative way to wash soft toys! For my sis, she hand washes them every year, or bi-yearly, depending on her mood.
Anyway, I have no toys to wash, also no model cars or planes or ships or robots to wash, since I am not a typical guy going into model building and such things.
So my spring cleaning experience; no bad loh. Clean my ever “reliable” fan, whose motor sounds can really “lull” you to sleep. Clean my room windows, dust-cleaning my wardrobe, my PC area, my study table etc. Also do some tidying up my study area to prepare for this semester. I always believe a good start in a tidy study area motivates learning during study. Set up my Epson CX5500 trio-function ink-jet printer to prepare the printing of notes. It is a tricky challenge, even for an engineering student, trust me, lucky this time the step-by-step manual is becoming more and more user-friendly. Tidy my wardrobe and throw away old clothes, to make room for new ones, though I haven’t done much shopping nowadays, too lazy.
I also try to help my mum in doing the kitchen a bit, wiping away all the “oily” dust on the outsides of washing machine, and fridge, and cabinets. It is a totally tiring, but fun and fulfilling experience, since you feel a sense of achievement, and you find that you really treat your home as your home, not a hostel or hotel 🙂

Err…I think they are washed quite thoroughly in the washing machine. Because the soft toys got weird edges, I’m just afraid I’ll miss certain parts out if I hand wash them.

This blog contains a mish-mash of English and Chinese entries, so I don’t have a purely Chinese blog although I’ve just set up a purely English one. Just finished watching ‘The Golden Path’ and my feelings is mixed with regards to the conclusion ,
There is no denying that the serial is somewhat the best among the rest considering the fact that I gave up ‘Kinship’ the moment I saw the monk who dressed up somewhat like the evil emperor Darth Sidious of the Star Wars series ,making funny faces at everyone and everything , it can be pretty freaky when you are having your dinner with that kind of face staring at you ,
anyway 🙂
Although generally I give my thumbs up for the whole series but it seems that some loose ends was not really tied up realistically , here are some observations
Kaijie : knowing that he was a wanted man and a fugitive ,
he make no effort to put on any disguise or perhaps get some plastic surgery to make himself less conspicuous, to make matter worst , he put himself up in a 5 star hotel with room service all thrown in and perhaps during his free time he might just lazed around the poolside watching the sun set
A true fugitive will be hiding in ratholes and abandoned buildings just like what Jin Long did
I have a strong feeling that if Bak Kut teh meh had bore Jin Long a son we could find ourselves going into part two and Kaijie morphing into a gangster chief and Jin Long’s son breathing vengence upon him , this time we will throw in more exotic locale like Hong Kong , Thailand and even rural Indonesia
Lin Fei: A good move to have Lin Fei bore Kajie a daughter and to have her daughter falling in love with Jin Long’s son and that will give viewers one hell of a ride in part two
Xiao Gu : Honestly no one can go thru what she went thru and still smile and carry on with life happily unless she is on some kind of strong medication that numbed all her senses and memories , its simply impossible !
to correct that perception why not have her institutionalized due to sever depression, nothing have change she is still smiling only difference is that she doing it involuntary not by her own choice
I might need time to develope the characters further but I must say a big thank you for a wonderful serial , its been quite a while that I have enjoyed a mediacorp serial 🙂

I just subscribed to cable, like last night! Haha, so I’d be able to catch her programmes. I don’t really remember her cooking demonstrations cos’ it was while waiting for my turn to film that I was watching it. And because we were at Siloso Beach Resort, I was lulled to sleep even before her show started, so wasn’t paying too close attention. :p But I’m going to try the Raspberry Yoghurt Pops from this food blog, and hopefully it’ll work without the rhubarbs!
