  1. HEY don’t worry you’re always gorgeous! really. meanwhile, take care okay?

    Self-Care at Home

Most styes go away on their own in 5-7 days.

    * Apply warm compresses 4-6 times a day for about 15 minutes at a time to help the drainage. Keep your eyes closed.
    *

    * Gently scrub the eyelid with tap water or with a mild, nonirritating soap or shampoo (such as baby shampoo). This may help with drainage. Close your eyes as you scrub so you do not injure your eyes.
    *

    * Do not squeeze or puncture the sty. A more serious infection may occur as a result.
    *

    * Discontinue the use of eye makeup as well as eye lotions and creams because they may be infected.
    *

    * Discontinue wearing your contact lenses because the sty may cause an infection to spread to your cornea with the continued use of your contact lenses.

    HOPE THAT HELPS(:

Hi Joanne, hope the info below helps!

Wash ur eyelids and eyelashes several times a day using mild soap… Try to abstain from wearing eye makeup and keep the eyelid area clean…. I guess in ur case will be kinda hard coz u need to put on makeup for work… Watever it is, juz remember to remove the makeup thoroughly…

Wash your hands regularly and avoid touching your eyes… And most imptly, DO NOT RUB UR EYES OR SQUEEZE/PIERCE THE STY!!! Bateria inside can spread over the entire eyelid or worse still, the other eye will kena also…

Some tips u may wanna follow:
    1) Make a rice sack for warm compresses.
    2) Take a clean sock, fill it with uncooked rice grains (any type of grain will work), then make a knot to close the open end of the sock.
    3) Microwave for about 40 seconds. BE CAREFUL WITH THE TIMING IN THE MICROWAVE. IN PARTICULAR MAKE SURE RICE SACK IS NOT TOO HOT TO BURN THE DELICATE EYELID SKIN.
    4) Save the rice sack and reuse it.

Hope the sty will go away soon… Take care k! =)

    Luv,
    Delphine

  12. Hello.

    What’s a sty?
Whatever it is, take good care Joanne!
    It’ll recover soon!

    😀

  13. Oh, Poor poor Joanne. R you OK? Is it painful? Hope you can recover soon, and see a doc to see what he/she recommends you to do. I think some medication can do the job.

    Best Regards,
    Yoke Peng

  14. aiyo. dun worry. u will always be pretty de. xD

  15. No worries..

Here is list of the methods for treating Eye Stye :

Styes can be treated at home by applying a very warm, wet, clean wash cloth to the tender area.
Use alum water to wash your eyes. This gives relief in stye. To prepare the solution, mix 2-3 granules of alum in a cup of water.
Surgical drainage of the stye may also be necessary if the stye is not responding to treatment
Discontinue the use of eye makeup as well as eye lotions and creams because they may be infected.
Boil 1 teaspoon of coriander seeds with a cupful of water like an herbal tea preparation to wash the eyes 3-4 times a day.
Antibiotic creams may help recurrent or persistent styes.

Will still be pretty.. (after a few days)

  16. sayang sayang(疼疼)可怜!!!喝多一些罗汉果,羚羊水和菊花茶。用煮过的菊花放在眼睛上。这样眼睛就不会这么痛了。

  17. thank you all for ur concern. *love ya all* it’s too painful for me to touch it. 😦 it’ll get better soon, no worries everyone!

  18. 你眼睛痛痛了?我好伤心哦。。。sob sob 最近忙吗?想想男友就不痛了!哈哈!祝你早日康复!

  19. hihi Joanne,
U will get well soon, will pray for u:) dun be sad kayes,u still as beautiful as ever!!:)

  20. Styes are generally caused by a Staphylococcus aureus bacteria infection and are particularly common in infants, though people of any age may experience them. They can be triggered by stress, poor nutrition or lack of sleep

Most styes will drain on their own though this may be accelerated with a hot or warm compress, or by pulling out the eyelash. Styes typically resolve within 1 week with treatment. While a stye is technically a pimple and can be popped, doing so is not recommended without technical expertise due to their proximity to the eye.

    There are two types:

    1. Anterior blepharitis affects the front of the eyelids near the eyelashes. The causes are seborrheic dermatitis (similar to dandruff) and occasional infection by Staphylococcus bacteria.
    2. Posterior blepharitis affects the back of the eyelids, the part that makes contact with the eyes. This is caused by the oil glands present in this region. It is by far, the most common type of blepharitis.

A typical lid margin hygiene routine consists of 3 steps:
    1. Softening of lid margin debris and oils:
Apply a warm wet compress to the lids – such as a washcloth with hot water – for about 2 minutes.

    2. Mechanical removal of lid margin debris:
At end of shower routine, wash your face with a wash cloth. Use facial soap or non-burning baby shampoo (make sure to dilute the soap solution 1/10 with water first). Gently and repeatedly rub along the lid margins while eyes are closed.

    3. Antibiotic reduction of lid margin bacteria (at the discretion of your physician):
After lid margin cleaning, spread small amount of prescription antibiotic ophthalmic ointment with finger tip along lid fissure while eyes closed. Use prior to bed time as opposed to in the morning to avoid blurry vision.

    Take care Joanne

what happened to you man? After reading The Physician’s post, i knew more about sty.. hee. .always thought sty is due to too heaty in the body and cause it to grow…

  30. Haha,

Physician, well I never know Joanne has a certified doctor as a fan. From the way he writes the details, I am 80% sure he is a doctor, because normal laymen like us won’t have the passion to write all them down, though such infos can be googled.

Anyway, take care Joanne, and don’t rub or implicate the eye sty, which you won’t, because you say it is so painful.

About datoupek’s comment, wearing contact lenses is your personal choice. It is safe actually, if we care to wear it properly, and choose the right brand of lenses. If you do wear, just make sure you spend more time into the cleansing steps the professionals tell you to do. Don’t skip steps, though I really dunno what actualy the steps are, becos I wear specs. I find wearing contact lenses a chore, and a burn in the pocket money. 🙂

  31. u wil still be pretty la!

  36. Slightly off topic maybe, but a plea for you to think about the ethics of buying wetsuits. Please try and consider, for example, the things your product is manufactured with, the human rights of the factories where they’re made and the green credentials of retailers. And try to recycle instead of discarding. Thanks!!!!
